Are you looking for a killer tuna pasta salad recipe? Read on and find out how to make the best tasting dish you have ever had. The first step in making your own tuna pasta salad is to gather all of the ingredients and tools you will need. Preparing this dish is quite simple and does not require a lot of time and effort. In order to get this done properly you really only need a few tools.

You will need a pot, a bowl, a cutting board, a knife and a couple of spoons. Start by getting your pot of water boiling so your pasta can begin cooking. Once you have gotten your pasta going you can begin cutting up your vegetables. Some great ideas that make a great tuna salad are red onions, tomatoes, celery, and peppers (green, red, and yellow are all good). You can even kick it up a notch with a small amount of finely chopped jalapenos.

Once your vegetables are cut up your pasta should be done and ready to cool under cold running water. This is important because in addition to cooling the pasta it also rinses off the starch. The next step is to combine your pasta in a bowl with your drained tuna. Now you can get your chopped vegetables and mix in with the pasta and tuna. Add any other ingredients you like, such as boiled eggs or lemon juice, and mix well.

Whether you are following a tuna salad recipe or winging it and coming up with your on concoction, it will need some dressing to bind everything together. Without this you will end up with a tuna pasta salad that is dry and disappointing. The sauce will make the difference between a delicious dish and and one that is not so good. There are a lot of different ways to go with your sauce. You might want to try a mixture of sour cream and mayonnaise. That will do the trick. If your dish will be a warm one you might want to try a thick white sauce.

If you don’t have time to experiment and are looking for a killer recipe then here is one of my favorites that you can try:

Ingredients you will need
1 (16 oz) package of uncooked seashell pasta
1/2 cup of milk
2 tblsp of pickle juice
2 tsp of dried dill weed
1 tsp of salt
1/8 tsp of ground black pepper
1 1/2 cups of mayonnaise
2 (6 oz) cans of tuna, drained

Optional:
1/8 cup of chopped jalapenos
1/2 cup of chopped onion

Directions
1. Boil 6 cups of water with a pinch of salt and add pasta. Cook for 10 minutes and drain.
2. While your pasta is cooking mix together the milk, pickle juice, dill, salt and pepper, and mayonnaise. Add the tuna, onions and jalapenos. Mix well and then combine with your pasta. Cover with a lid or foil and put in refrigerator. Ideally it should be well chilled before serving so make sure you have it refrigerated for a couple of hours.
