Blogging Make MoneyYou can really help your blogging make money for you.  You need to focus on the right “stuff” and stay away from the wrong “stuff” and you will be better off than most of my student when they start blogging.  I have helped dozens of people get their blogs off the ground, and I have seen some trends and things that most new blogger do and don’t do that really affect their success.  I will share with your some strategies and tips I know will help keep you pointed in the right direction with your blogging.  Here are the strategies:

1. Don’t worry what your blog looks like until you have traffic —  This is a trap I see a lot of newbie bloggers fall into.  They want to “tweak” their site and make sure it looks pretty for all their new visitors.  If you have no rankings and traffic, you do not need to worry about this for a long time.  You can help your blog make money for you by simply not worrying about what the blog looks like until you have a solid 100 visitors a day.  You will make a much greater first impression on your readers with your content than with a pretty top header for your blog.  Don’t even think about what your blog looks like for it first 90 days of existence.

2.  Learn how to back link today —  You are probably working on getting good at putting up posts on your blog.  This is a good thing.  You also want to get very good at getting back links to your posts.  A lot of  blogging instruction is kind of “fuzzy” about this topic because it is a nebulous task to learn and is basically hard work at the beginning.  You need to get “votes” from other sites that make your blog look popular to the search engines.  In the beginning, you are going to have to get these votes yourself by back linking.  You need to learn how to submit your articles to article directories and make sure you provide two links back to your site.  You should have one link to your home page, and another link to an internal post page.

3.  Do not worry about your stats at all for 90 days —  Your blog stats are not going to get stronger by you looking at them.  If you are totally committed to your blogging, stay away from your stats for the first 90 days.  If you want to check them out weekly, that is fine.  You need to get post up on your blog and back links to the posts.  That is the work you need to accomplish.  Checking your blog visitor stats does not make either one of these happen, so you should not waste much of your time doing this task.

4. Become a master of 600 to 750 word foundation posts —  You want to start your blog off very strong with respect to your content.  I recommend putting up posts in the 600 to 750 word range to get your blog “off the ground”.  You want to put a lot of thought into your first 20 posts or so.  These post will become the “bedrock” that your blog is built on.  You only have one chance for a first impression with your readers.  You want to make certain it is a good one.

5.  Find products to sell that you have used and benefited from —  You do not want to put a lot of product banners on your blog and “hope” you make sales.  You want to focus on recommending products that you have used and liked.  If you can not give a personal testimonial on the product in a blog post, you are not going to sell many of these products anyway.  Your readers want to learn from your experiences and benefit from what you can share with them.  You want to do everything you can to show off the benefits of the products you are recommending.  The best way to do this is by sharing your personal experiences with that particular product.

As you can see, you really can help your blog make money for you.  You need to do the right things and avoid doing  the wrong things early on in your blogging career.  By making smart choices in what you spend your time on, you can really improve your chances for early profitability for your blog.
