Some texting accidents are funny. The ones that usually entail tripping over your dog to land nose first in the grass or that one time your teenage daughter walked straight into a lamp post, for instance. Unfortunately, there is a rash of mishaps caused by texting that are not nearly as entertaining or harmless. An estimated 28 percent of car crashes are caused by cell phones and in no small part by texting in particular. While it can be difficult at times to resist the lure of your cell phone, you know that texting while driving can be dangerous or even fatal. So why should you have to pay up to repair or replace your vehicle when someone else just can’t put their phone down?
